【正】 The gross population of China’s private ve-hicle has been increasing rapidly since the early 1980s when individual purchasing of automobiles was permitted in China. During 1985 to 1996, while the parc of non-private vehicles increased at averagely 10.6% yearly, the population of private vehicles grew at averagely 26.4% annu-ally (see the attached Figure, Table 1 and Table
