The article explores the effectiveness of story writing in L2 teaching. A language teaching method based on the theory of language acquisition and focuses on students for active and meaningful learning is essential for EFL students. Free story writing, with its unique advantages, motivates and strengthens students' learning and improves students' writing ability by creating a strong context for the target language. The paper discusses the topic by examining the writing process, story principles, composition, and second language acquisition including Input Hypothesis and Affective Filter Hypothesis.
