摘要

Defamiliarization,the core theory of Russian formalism,emphasizes specific effects in a literary work by adopting fresh perspective to change readers’ automatic and practical perception to an unfamiliar one.Edgar allan poe is one of the writers who applied defamiliarization in his writing The Black Cat to help improve the literariness of a literature,break the set pattern and attract readers attention on modern people’s twisted personality and dark inner world.
