摘要

<正>On the basis of researches concerning'learner autonomy',the problems and causes of English majors’ lack of autonomous learning ability are analyzed in the newly - built engineering college via questionnaire and interview.Some practical strategies are put forwards for students,teachers as well as schools to promote learner autonomy.The outcome of the study also provides both objective reference and theoretical basis for English teaching and learning.
